Domain Registration
1. Choose a name for your domain.
The name you choose cannot be in use by another person or business (more on this
later). The only valid characters for a domain name are letters, numbers and a
hyphen "-". Other special characters like the underscore "_" or
an exclamation mark "!" are NOT permitted. Domain names cannot start or
end with the hyphen. A domain name can be up to 26 characters long -- including the
4 characters used to identify the Top Level Domain (.NET, .COM or .ORG).
Examples:
- example.com is
a valid domain name (11 characters).
- my-domain.com
is a valid domain (the hyphen is valid).
is not a valid domain name.
is not a valid domain name.
- my domain.com
is not a valid domain name (spaces are not allowed).
Make sure the the root level domain is
appropriate for your domain.
- .com
- For commercial or company use.
- .org
- For organizations, churches etc.
- .net
- For Internet infrastructure organizations.
2. Check to make sure your domain is
available. You must choose a domain name that is unique. To determine the
availability of a domain name, you may click on the "Domain
Name Tab" at the top of the page.
3. Once you have determined that
the domain name you want is available, you will need a Primary and a Secondary Domain Name
Server (DNS). We can provide the Primary and Secondary DNS for your domain for as
little as $25.00/month (when prepaid for 6 months) + a one-time $30.00 setup charge.
4. If you choose to let us host your domain,
we will complete the registration. We will bill you $70 for the
registration.
Having your own domain
provides that extra touch that makes your web page stand out from the rest. We can handle
all aspects of domain hosting for your business.
